TTL adalah nilai dalam catatan [[dns|DNS]] yang menentukan berapa lama (dalam detik) respons [[dns-cache|yang di-cache]] tetap valid. TTL yang lebih rendah memastikan propagasi perubahan DNS lebih cepat tetapi meningkatkan beban kueri pada [[authoritative-dns|server otoritatif]].
Contoh
A TTL of 300 (5 minutes) means DNS changes propagate quickly; a TTL of 86400 (24 hours) reduces server load but delays updates.
