TTL هي قيمة في سجلات [[dns|DNS]] تحدد المدة (بالثواني) التي تظل خلالها الاستجابة [[dns-cache|المخزنة مؤقتاً]] صالحة. تضمن قيم TTL المنخفضة نشراً أسرع لتغييرات DNS، لكنها تزيد من حمل الاستعلامات على [[authoritative-dns|خوادم التفويض]].

A TTL of 300 (5 minutes) means DNS changes propagate quickly; a TTL of 86400 (24 hours) reduces server load but delays updates.
