Le TTL est une valeur dans les enregistrements [[dns|DNS]] spécifiant combien de temps (en secondes) une réponse [[dns-cache|en cache]] reste valide. Des TTL plus bas garantissent une propagation plus rapide des modifications DNS mais augmentent la charge de requêtes sur les [[authoritative-dns|serveurs faisant autorité]].
Exemple
A TTL of 300 (5 minutes) means DNS changes propagate quickly; a TTL of 86400 (24 hours) reduces server load but delays updates.
