DNS (نظام أسماء النطاقات) هو نظام التسمية الهرمي للإنترنت الذي يترجم أسماء النطاقات المقروءة بشريًا (مثل example.com) إلى عناوين IP المقروءة آليًا (مثل 93.184.216.34). يُعرف في الغالب بـ"دليل الهاتف للإنترنت"، وهو ضروري لتصفح الويب وتسليم البريد الإلكتروني وتقريبًا جميع اتصالات الإنترنت.
