IDN là tên miền bao gồm các ký tự từ bảng chữ cái không phải Latin (tiếng Trung, tiếng Ả Rập, Cyrillic, v.v.) hoặc ký tự Latin có dấu phụ. IDN được mã hóa bằng [[punycode|Punycode]] để tương thích với DNS.
