Um nameserver é um servidor que armazena registros DNS e responde a consultas DNS para uma zona de domínio. Os nameservers formam a espinha dorsal do sistema [[dns|DNS]], direcionando o tráfego ao responder às solicitações de busca com os endereços IP apropriados ou outros dados de registro.
