Un nameserver es un servidor que almacena registros DNS y responde a consultas DNS para una zona de dominio. Los nameservers forman la columna vertebral del sistema [[dns|DNS]], dirigiendo el tráfico al responder a las solicitudes de búsqueda con las direcciones IP apropiadas u otros datos de registros.
