DNS-over-TLS (DoT) mengenkripsi kueri [[dns|DNS]] menggunakan protokol TLS pada port khusus (853). Tidak seperti [[dns-over-https|DoH]], DoT menggunakan portnya sendiri, sehingga memudahkan administrator jaringan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengelola lalu lintas DNS.

Android 9+ supports 'Private DNS' which uses DoT to encrypt DNS queries to providers like dns.google or 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com.
