DNS-over-TLS (DoT) criptografa consultas [[dns|DNS]] usando o protocolo TLS em uma porta dedicada (853). Ao contrário do [[dns-over-https|DoH]], o DoT usa sua própria porta, facilitando para os administradores de rede identificar e gerenciar o tráfego DNS.

Android 9+ supports 'Private DNS' which uses DoT to encrypt DNS queries to providers like dns.google or 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com.
