[[tld|TLD]] yang didelegasikan adalah TLD yang telah resmi ditambahkan ke zona root DNS oleh [[iana|IANA]], artinya TLD tersebut sudah aktif dan dapat diselesaikan di internet publik. TLD yang belum didelegasikan adalah TLD yang telah disetujui atau dimohonkan tetapi catatan server namanya belum dimasukkan ke zona root. Perbedaan ini penting karena TLD bisa lulus evaluasi ICANN dan memiliki Perjanjian Registry yang ditandatangani namun tetap tidak didelegasikan selama berbulan-bulan saat pengaturan teknis. Semua TLD yang terlihat di Database Zona Root IANA sudah didelegasikan.
