征求意见稿（RFC）是由互联网工程任务组（IETF）发布的正式文件，定义互联网标准、协议和最佳实践。尽管名称非正式，但最终化的RFC是权威技术标准——几乎所有基础互联网协议，包括[[dns|DNS]]（RFC 1034/1035）、[[epp|EPP]]（RFC 5730）和[[whois-protocol|WHOIS]]（RFC 3912），都由RFC定义。RFC在成为标准之前需经历提案和审查过程。
