Une Demande de Commentaires (RFC) est un document formel publié par l'Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) qui définit les normes, protocoles et meilleures pratiques d'internet. Malgré leur nom informel, les RFC finalisés sont des normes techniques faisant autorité — presque tous les protocoles internet fondamentaux, y compris [[dns|DNS]] (RFC 1034/1035), [[epp|EPP]] (RFC 5730) et [[whois-protocol|WHOIS]] (RFC 3912), sont définis par un RFC.
