Un registro RRSIG (Resource Record Signature) (RFC 4034) contiene la firma criptográfica sobre un conjunto de registros [[dns|DNS]], permitiendo la validación [[dnssec|DNSSEC]]. Para cada tipo de registro en una zona firmada (A, MX, AAAA, etc.), se genera un RRSIG correspondiente usando la clave privada de la zona. Los [[dns-resolver|resolvers]] validadores verifican el RRSIG contra el [[dnskey-record|DNSKEY]] de la zona para confirmar que los registros no fueron manipulados en tránsito. Los registros RRSIG tienen una fecha de expiración y deben actualizarse periódicamente.
Ejemplo
An RRSIG on the A record for example.com proves the IP address was signed by the zone owner's private key; tampering with the IP would invalidate the signature and cause resolution failure.
