IDNA هو الإطار التقني الذي يُحدد كيفية معالجة [[idn|أسماء النطاقات الدولية]] في التطبيقات والبروتوكولات. يُحدِّد المعيار الحالي IDNA 2008 (RFC 5891–5894) كيفية التحقق من صحة تسميات Unicode وتوحيدها وتحويلها إلى صيغة ACE في [[punycode|Punycode]] (xn--). شدَّد IDNA 2008 القواعد مقارنةً بسابقه، مقيِّداً أحرفاً كالواصلات والرموز التي كان IDNA 2003 يسمح بها، مما حسَّن الاتساق عبر اللغات والنصوص المختلفة.
