Un registro CNAME (Nombre Canónico) crea un alias de un nombre de dominio a otro. En lugar de apuntar a una dirección IP como un [[a-record|registro A]], un CNAME apunta a un nombre de dominio diferente, el cual luego se resuelve a una dirección IP.
Ejemplo
A CNAME record pointing www.example.com to example.com means both addresses reach the same server.
