이전 잠금은 도메인 초기 등록 또는 새 [[registrar|등록대행자]]로의 이전 완료 후 60일간 [[domain-transfer|아웃바운드 이전]]을 금지하는 ICANN의 등록대행자 간 이전 정책 규정을 말합니다. 60일 잠금은 모든 ICANN 인증 등록대행자에게 의무적으로 적용되며, 자발적인 [[domain-lock|클라이언트 이전 금지]] 상태(등록대행자 잠금)와는 구별됩니다. 도용된 신용카드나 해킹된 계정으로 도메인 등록 직후 발생하는 부정 이전을 방지하는 것이 목적입니다. 정당하게 도메인을 등록한 후 즉시 이전해야 하는 등록자는 양도 및 양수 등록대행자가 특정 상황에서 면제에 합의하지 않는 한 60일을 기다려야 합니다.
예시
If you register a new .com domain today and immediately try to transfer it to a different registrar, the transfer will be rejected — ICANN policy requires the domain to remain with the registering registrar for 60 days.
