An FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) is the complete domain name specifying its exact location in the [[dns|DNS]] hierarchy, from the host to the top-level domain. It includes all labels and ends with a trailing dot representing the DNS root.
Example
The FQDN 'www.example.com.' (note the trailing dot) uniquely identifies a specific host in the DNS hierarchy.
