Die GNSO (Generic Names Supporting Organization) ist das [[icann|ICANN]]-Gremium, das für die Entwicklung und Empfehlung von Richtlinien für generische Top-Level-Domains ([[gtld|gTLDs]]) zuständig ist. Sie besteht aus sieben Interessengruppen — darunter Registries, [[registrar|Registrare]], gewerbliche Nutzer, nicht-gewerbliche Nutzer und Internetdienstanbieter — die jeweils im GNSO-Rat vertreten sind. Politische Entscheidungen erfordern eine qualifizierte Mehrheit der Interessengruppen.
