TMCH (Trademark Clearinghouse)

The TMCH (Trademark Clearinghouse) is a centralized database of verified trademark records operated under [[icann|ICANN]] authority and used across new [[gtld|gTLD]] launches. Trademark holders submit their marks to the TMCH, which validates ownership and grants two key protections: priority registration during the [[sunrise-period|Sunrise Period]] and real-time notification when an identical label is registered in any participating new gTLD (Trademark Claims). This means a brand owner registered in the TMCH will be notified within 24 hours whenever someone attempts to register their exact trademark string across all new gTLDs.

Example

Nike registered its trademark in the TMCH; when someone tried to register nike.sport during general availability, the registrar displayed a Trademark Claims notice warning the applicant of Nike's existing rights.
