Bir DNSKEY kaydı (RFC 4034), bir bölgedeki [[dnssec|DNSSEC]] imzalarını doğrulamak için kullanılan genel şifreleme anahtarını depolar. DNSSEC ile imzalanmış her bölge en az bir ZSK (Zone Signing Key) ve bir KSK (Key Signing Key) yayımlar. KSK'nın hash değeri üst bölgede DS kaydı olarak yayımlanarak DNS kökünden aşağıya doğru [[dnssec|güven zinciri]] oluşturur. DNSKEY kayıtları, flag, protokol ve algoritma alanları için belirli bir biçime sahiptir.
