DNS (Domain Name System)

The Domain Name System (DNS) is the internet's hierarchical naming system that translates human-readable domain names (like example.com) into machine-readable IP addresses (like 93.184.216.34). Often called "the phonebook of the internet," DNS is essential for web browsing, email delivery, and virtually all internet communication.

Example

When you type google.com in your browser, DNS resolves it to 142.250.80.46, allowing your browser to connect to Google's servers.
