SOA (Start of Authority) रिकॉर्ड एक अनिवार्य [[dns|DNS]] रिकॉर्ड है जिसमें DNS ज़ोन के बारे में प्रशासनिक जानकारी होती है, जिसमें प्राथमिक [[nameserver|नेमसर्वर]], जिम्मेदार व्यक्ति का ईमेल, सीरियल नंबर और ज़ोन ट्रांसफर तथा कैशिंग के लिए टाइमिंग पैरामीटर शामिल हैं।
