EPP is the protocol used for communication between [[registrar|registrars]] and [[registry-operator|registry operators]] to manage domain name registrations, transfers, renewals, and deletions. Defined in RFC 5730-5734.
Example
When you register a domain through a registrar, they send an EPP 'create' command to the registry operator's system.
