AAAA Record

An AAAA record ("quad-A" record) is a [[dns|DNS]] record that maps a domain name to an IPv6 address. As the internet transitions from IPv4 to IPv6, AAAA records are increasingly important for websites that want to be reachable on modern networks.

Example

An AAAA record for example.com might point to 2606:2800:220:1:248:1893:25c8:1946.
