ClientHold와 serverHold는 도메인의 DNS 레코드를 레지스트리 영역에서 제거하는 [[domain-status-codes|EPP 상태 코드]]로, 등록이 활성 상태로 유지되더라도 도메인을 오프라인으로 만듭니다. ClientHold는 스폰서 [[registrar|등록대행자]]가 설정하며—일반적으로 미지급, 악용 신고 또는 법적 보류를 이유로—기본 문제가 해결되면 등록대행자가 해제할 수 있습니다. ServerHold는 레지스트리 자체가 ICANN 준수 조치, 법원 명령 또는 레지스트리 정책 위반에 따라 부과하며, 해제하려면 레지스트리와 직접 협력해야 합니다. 두 상태 모두 WHOIS 조회에 나타나며 DNS 구성에 상관없이 '도메인이 확인되지 않음' 오류를 유발합니다.
