L'indexation du domaine décrit combien de pages d'un domaine Googlebot a explorées et ajoutées à son index de recherche. Un domaine sain a la plupart de ses pages importantes indexées avec un minimum de contenu de mauvaise qualité ou dupliqué rivalisant pour le budget d'exploration. Le budget d'exploration — le nombre de pages que Google explore par jour — est en partie alloué au niveau du domaine, de sorte qu'un grand domaine avec de nombreuses pages minces peut entraîner une exploration peu fréquente des pages importantes.
