Die Infrastruktur-[[tld|TLD]] ist eine zweckgebundene Top-Level-Domain, die ausschließlich für technische Zwecke der Kerninfrastruktur des Internets reserviert ist. .arpa (Address and Routing Parameter Area) ist die einzige Infrastruktur-TLD und wird von der [[iana|IANA]] im Auftrag der [[icann|ICANN]]-Gemeinschaft verwaltet. Sie beherbergt Zonen für Reverse-[[dns|DNS]]-Lookups (in-addr.arpa für IPv4, ip6.arpa für IPv6) und andere protokollwesentliche Namensräume. Anders als alle anderen TLDs wird .arpa nie für öffentliche Website-Adressen verwendet und kann nicht von Einzelpersonen oder Organisationen registriert werden.
