BIMI ist ein E-Mail-Standard, der es Organisationen ermöglicht, ihr verifiziertes Markenlogo direkt in den Posteingängen von E-Mail-Clients neben ihren Nachrichten anzuzeigen. BIMI baut auf der Durchsetzung von [[dmarc|DMARC]] (Quarantäne- oder Ablehnungsrichtlinie), [[spf-record|SPF]] und [[dkim|DKIM]] auf. Um sich zu qualifizieren, müssen Absender einen BIMI DNS-Eintrag veröffentlichen, der auf eine SVG-Logodatei verweist, und — für die verifizierte Markenanzeige — ein VMC (Verified Mark Certificate) von einer autorisierten Stelle wie DigiCert oder Entrust erwerben. Der kombinierte Effekt erschwert Phishing: Empfänger können legitime Marken-E-Mails visuell überprüfen, bevor sie sie öffnen.
