Registration Period
The registration period is the length of time for which a domain name is registered. Most [[tld|TLDs]] allow registration periods of 1 to 10 years. The domain must be renewed before the period expires to maintain ownership.
Example
Registering a .com domain for 2 years means it will expire exactly 2 years from the registration date unless renewed.
