ICANN Fee

The [[icann|ICANN]] fee is a per-domain annual surcharge of $0.18 collected by registrars and passed through to ICANN. This fee funds ICANN's operational costs for managing the global domain name system.

Example

When you see a .com priced at $8.17/year, that's the wholesale price ($7.85) plus the ICANN fee ($0.18) plus a small margin.
