Dedicated Server

A dedicated server is a physical machine leased exclusively to a single customer, providing maximum performance, security isolation, and control over hardware resources. The customer controls all IP addresses assigned to the server, enabling flexible [[reverse-dns|reverse DNS]] and domain-to-IP mapping for multiple hosted domains. Dedicated servers are suited for high-traffic websites, large [[email-hosting|email platforms]], and compliance-sensitive workloads that cannot share infrastructure. Unlike [[vps-hosting|VPS]], there is no hypervisor overhead and no risk of neighboring tenants impacting performance.

Example

A high-traffic news site serving 10 million monthly visitors uses a dedicated server with a /28 IP block, assigning different IPs to editorial, advertising, and API subdomains for traffic isolation and independent reputation management.
