Die Datenschutz-Grundverordnung (DSGVO) der EU hat die Verfügbarkeit von [[whois|WHOIS]]-Daten seit 2018 erheblich beeinflusst. [[registrar|Registrare]] löschen nun personenbezogene Daten aus öffentlichen WHOIS-Ergebnissen für Registranten in DSGVO-Jurisdiktionen.

Since GDPR, a WHOIS lookup on a .com domain registered in Europe shows 'REDACTED FOR PRIVACY' instead of the owner's name and address.
