301 Redirect

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to another that passes approximately 90-99% of link equity (ranking power) to the destination URL. 301 redirects are used when changing domain names, consolidating domains, or migrating to a new [[tld|TLD]].

Example

Migrating from old-brand.com to new-brand.com using 301 redirects preserves most of the original domain's SEO value.
